I am conscious of the preciousness of the material used:
to me, clay as an ancient weathering product, symbolises timelessness,
an aspect that seems to me to be significant for my own work too.
Neither do I try to follow trends nor to define my artistic work through
terms such as vessel or sculpture.

Working with clay is a great pleasure for me. The results look best when they are in a fresh, unfired state. They already look dead after they have dried and in the subsequent firings I try to put life back into them with glazes, oxides and engobes. Life is not always colourful..
